POTTERY
As an elective course, I attended a pottery workshop last year to explore a hands-on craft practice beyond my regular academic curriculum. The workshop helped me understand material behavior, form, and the importance of making through direct interaction with clay.
During the course, I learned hand-building techniques, including coil pottery and slab pottery, which allowed me to experiment with form, balance, and surface texture. I was also introduced to glazing and coloring techniques, gaining knowledge of finishes, surface treatments, and the firing process.
This experience enhanced my material sensitivity, patience, and craftsmanship, and helped me develop a deeper appreciation for traditional craft practices and their relevance to design.
